About Those Who Bloom
"And they were like wildflowers; beautiful, fierce, and free." - Anon
Those Who Bloom is an online space for late blooming people-pleasers and those starting life over after 30.
Those who are tugging at the roots of their belief systems.
Those who are weeding out shame and trauma.
Those who are unearthing their authentic self.
Those who see god in the dirt more than in the light.
Here you'll find nonjudgmental space for you to dig deeper, deconstruct your beliefs, heal religious shame, rediscover who you are, and bloom. Wildly. Fiercely. Freely.
You don't have to do this sacred work alone.
I am a trauma-informed spiritual director and a queer, mystic rebel. As a nonbinary person who grew up in the midst of Purity Culture and church camp "cry nights," I know how deeply rooted shame & trauma can negatively affect our spiritual journey as well as our sense of identity and purpose. Deconstruction
If you're here, chances you were a quirky kid growing up in the midst of Purity culture, church camp "cry nights," and the WWJD movement. You quickly learned to follow all the rules in order to earn safety, belonging, or approval.
Now, you're tugging at the roots of your belief system, are somewhere on a deconstruction journey, or have weeded out religion altogether. Your relationsip with G*d or the Sacred is...complicated. You may feel confused, hesitant, or even repulsed while another part is searching for Something.

Identity Issues
Deconstructing a belief system, healing from religious shame or trauma, and seeking to know the Sacred naturally unearths a surprising truth: a need to know ourselves.
Why? As a kid, you were probably discouraged from expressing your emotions, listening to your body, following your heart's desires, or trusting your gut. Now, you struggle with a loud mind, a harsh inner critic, and huge existential questions about your identity, purpose, life's meaning, and enoughness. You might even wonder if you're autistic, ADHD, or LGBTQIA+. You'll ask Google again tonight at 2am.

Life Transitions
You're probably also coping with anger, grief, loss, mid-life transitions and uprootings- because let's face it: No one talks about all the letting go and the many life changes that come when you're outgrowing yourself or your beliefs.
You might feel like you're on this journey all alone. You've been in and out of therapy and are still searching for a like-minded soul who gets it. Someone who can talk about the G*d stuff, the queer stuff, the autism stuff, and the midlife life stuff- without fixing, flinching, judging, or dismissing.
